OPENING LINES

Thames Valley University

Signs should simultaneously sink in, and yet stand out. Their very purpose is to be seen, something about their form and position needs to comfortably grab your attention. So many signs are made without any awareness of the surrounding architecture; they glibly ignore context.

For Thames Valley University's Paul Hamlyn Library, we worked with sculptor Danny Lane to design a striking dedicatory plaque — a glass 'page' to preface Richard Rogers' building.
